On Sunday, December 7th, 2014, Ouse, Koriyama’s “Kaachanzu” Mothers’ Satoyama Woodland Farm Cuisine was served at the Sixth Environmental Restoration Case Study Presentation (Fukushima). The extravagant local food menu included temarizushi (sushi served on balls of rice), makizushi (sushi rolled in nori seaweed), cabbage mochi (cabbage sautéed with glutinous rice cakes), kinako mochi (glutinous rice cakes served with roasted soybean flour) and vegetable soup.
The presentation was sublime. Absolutely stunning!
It was as much a treat for the eyes as it was for the taste buds – make no mistake!
Mr. Osamu Inaba of Minamisoma City Museum delivered the keynote speech, discussing post-disaster reconstruction, while presentations covering a variety of fields were given by students, NPOs, regional councils and decontamination operators.
Bunkyo Gakuin University Nakayama Seminar students gave a presentation on the Farmhouse Pension Initiative in Ouse.
In addition, presentations were given by students from WIZ International Information Engineering College, Department of Radiation Engineering; Nihon University College of Engineering RISM; and Koriyama Women’s University. It was a wonderful day of presentations, and we are indebted to all who took part.
