The Hayao Household
Aspara-Gyu no Sato takes its name from the crops and livestock that the Hayao family raises on their farm—asparagus and wagyu beef cattle. Located at the base of a mountain, you can enjoy farm life surrounded by the beauty of the countryside.
Hayao began his farmhouse pension at the invitation of the owners of two other Ouse-area farmhouse pensions, Nakamura of Nakamura-Sanchi and Ishii of Nandabe-Mura. He finds great joy in sharing the charms of country living with guests from all over.
At Aspara-Gyu no Sato, guests can harvest vegetables (asparagus) and interact with cattle. Feeding and petting the cattle are particularly popular activities for all ages.
When it comes to meals, asparagus dishes of all sorts are served, as well as dishes with the farm’s own vegetables as a base, and hamburgers. Vegetables harvested by guests that very day can be savored come dinner.
One of life’s greatest joys is getting to interact with people from different places, of different ages, and with different work backgrounds.
